Scorers and Team Rankings have been updated for games up to (and including) Tuesday November 17th.
From here on out and aside for a few exceptions, updates will take place DAILY.
The Fall 2009 Outdoor season reached completion almost 2 weeks ago now, but amidst all the craziness of our new November 2v2 league (the opening of registration, preparation of rules documents, match scheduling, etc.) the final season topscorers just sort of got "lost" in the way.
Fear not! I have BIG surprise in reserve for this semester's topscorers. I will not reveal what it is, but suffice to say it should arrive within a couple of weeks and rest assured you will not be disappointed!
In any case, here are the SEASON WINNERS! Congratulations to all!
In Men's A, is it really any surprise to see all-time record manAHMET "AC" TURKDOGAN win yet another scoring race? This man just cannot keep away from the net: with a total of 7 season "AC" claims the Fall 2009 MA Topscorer title, two goals ahead of teammate Claude La Hausse de Lalouvière but boy was it a bittersweet victory. Forced to bedrest due to the swine flu, AC was sidelined in the last week of the season and had to receive some sad news of defeat from his team's final match. Happy Tree Friends could surely have used their main target man against Uncle Ruckus...
In Men's B, it was a bittersweet victory for yet another player. Already July 2009 winner this Summer, BRIAN HAMILTON hoped to get a double in two consecutive seasons. And so he did: with a goaltotal of 8 the Full Steel striker swept away all competitors to claim a well-deserved Fall 2009 MB Topscorer title. Alas, his team could not achieve the same result in the final game, blowing away a 2-0 lead to be caught up 2-2 in the final 5 minutes, and then losing on penalties after extra time.
Finally in Men's C the winner was already announced in our previous update. It seemed initially as if FC Laureola's Andrew Tozer was going to take the crown (on account of his 9 goals by mid-season) but a certain Tehranto FC forward had something to say on that. Congratulations to DONALD SEWELL, Fall 2009 MC Topscorer with a whopping total of 12 !
Lastly, this semester's "bittersweet" trend was made really complete with our ladies' category. In Women's A, PEKers striker LINDSAY HOGAN beat her rivals ( Team Supreme teammates Casey Conway and Kelsey Rufiange) by arriving on top with 5 . Alas in the final match, Lindsay's goals were not sufficient to overcome the aforementioned Team Supreme girls, and PEKers had to settle for the silver medal. Still, Lindsay claims a well-deserved Fall 2009 WA Topscorer title.
Finally in Women's B, KYRIN DHALIWAL must have confidently stepped onto the field of her final match with the topscoring crown in her pocket (12 and a +6 lead on your opponents will generally do that), but alas the cold shower of a 0-3 loss made the scorer title of the Grass Monkeys forward much less satisfying. She will probably be consoled at the sight of her prize later this month (see introduction)!
Down in Co-Rec B, FINALLY the topscorer/team champion association was respected! Sexed Up's AHMET "AC" TURKDOGAN and SOFIA SOLAR both won in their respective male & female category (with 13 and 4 ), making this the second "double" for our topscoring couple and also scoring title Nº9 for AC. The boundaries of intramural achievement just keep getting pushed further & further...
And lastly in the Co-Rec C division, we announced it one week early last month and the final regular season match only confirmed our expectations. The goaltotal of Tribune FC's YOICHI KADOTA may certainly not be *astronomical* (4 ), but it certainly was sufficient to beat all other competition. Bravo to our Fall 2009 CRC Topscorer!
That's all for now guys! Next update will be concerning our very newest 2v2 SOCCER league! Stay tuned!!

Approximately two weeks ago, I contacted all team captains with the idea of having a NEW soccer league for the month of November. A series of Test Matches was organized, designed to test the in-game rules of this new league and get some direct input from you, the intramural participants.
These test matches are now over and I am extremely glad to report the response was UNANIMOUSLY POSITIVE! Everyone that participated had tons of fun and was very excited at the prospect of continuing the intramural season with this new sport!
So, together with the department of Athletics I would like to welcome you all to the:
